ALZHEIMER : A PHOTOGRAPHIC DIARY
«ALZHEIMER A Photographic Diary» was created two years after my mother’s death. It is a drama in thirteen tableaux with a text bonded to each picture: the image shows the circumstance, the text speaks the inner experience and the fusion of both generates the emotion.
It was created in 2003 and exhibited for the first time that same year. Afterward, it has been shown on many occasions in the context of events related to Alzheimer disease as, for example, the «Alzheimer Society of Canada 26th National Conference». In 2009 it was exhibited at the Musée Populaire de la Photographie (Drummondville, Québec) from September 16 to November 15; at the CEGEP de Rosemont from November 20 to December 18; at the Maison de la culture Côte-des-Neiges (Montréal) from March 22 to May 30 2011 and at the Centre culturel de Comines-Warneton (Belgium) from September 19 to October 3 2011. Since October 2007, it is a permanent exhibition at the Maison Francesco Bellini of the Laval Alzheimer Society (Laval, Quebec).
It was published in 2007 by Smith, Bonappétit & Son in english and, in french, by Les 400 coups, Montreal Canada.
